About this tour
The zipline circuit at Rancho Capomo runs seven lines through the rainforest above Las Palmas de Arriba, strung between platforms built into the trees on both sides of the valley. Each line has its own character: some are long and fast with the canopy dropping away beneath you, others cross the ravine low enough that you can hear the river.
You do not need any experience. Guides fit the harness, helmet and gloves at base, explain the braking technique and send you down a short practice line before the long ones. There is a guide at both ends of every cable, and the walks between platforms are short jungle paths — which is when most people spot iguanas, birds and butterflies.
The circuit takes up the morning; the afternoon belongs to the ranch. There is a Mexican cooking class with the kitchen team — guacamole, salsas, tortillas pressed and cooked on the spot — and then lunch with open bar under the palapa before the drive back down to Puerto Vallarta.

How the day works
- Pickup in VallartaCollected at 9:00 AM from the agreed meeting point and driven about 45 minutes up into the Sierra Madre.
- Gear and briefingHarness, helmet and gloves are fitted at base. Guides explain the braking technique and run you down a short practice line.
- The seven linesYou work through the circuit platform by platform, with a guide at both ends of every cable.

What to bring
Comfortable clothes you do not mind getting dusty — a t-shirt, shorts or trousers and closed sneakers are ideal. Long hair is easier tied back under the helmet. Bring sunscreen, insect repellent and a little cash for tips or drinks, plus a swimsuit if you want to use the ranch pool area after the circuit. Avoid sandals, flip-flops, skirts and loose jewellery: the harness and platforms need closed shoes and nothing dangling.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need zipline experience?
No. Guides run a full safety briefing, fit your harness and helmet and send you down a short practice line before the long ones. Most guests have never ziplined before.
How many ziplines are there?
Seven separate lines strung between platforms across the canopy, linked by short jungle walks.
Is there a weight or age limit?
Minimum age is 6 years and maximum weight is around 250 lb (113 kg). These limits come from the harness and cable equipment and are confirmed when you book.
Am I afraid of heights — can I still do it?
Many guests are. The practice line is the honest test: if you are comfortable on it, the rest of the circuit is the same movement with a better view. Guides are on both ends of every line and nobody is pushed off a platform.
What is the cooking class like?
Relaxed and hands-on. The ranch cooks walk the group through guacamole, a couple of salsas and fresh tortillas, and what you make is served with lunch.
Is transport from my hotel included?
Round-trip transport from the agreed meeting points in Puerto Vallarta is included. If you are staying outside the usual zones, tell us where and we will confirm the closest pickup.
What happens if it rains?
Light rain is not a problem. Departures are only held or rescheduled for lightning or heavy storms, and we let you know as early as we can on the day.
