About this tour

This is the combination most people book, and for good reason: you see the same stretch of Sierra Madre twice, from the ground and from above, and the second half is nothing like the first.

The morning is the ATV circuit. One machine per driver, a practice loop at the ranch, then jungle track, mango groves, river crossings and ridgelines with guides riding front and back. It is dusty in winter, splashy in summer, and consistently the loudest part of the day.

The afternoon is the canopy. Harness, helmet and gloves at base, a short practice line, then seven ziplines strung between platforms across the valley — the same jungle you just drove through, now moving underneath you at speed. Between the two there is a Mexican cooking class and lunch with open bar under the palapa, which is where most groups end up staying longer than planned.

Pickup in VallartaCollected at 9:00 AM from the agreed meeting point and driven about 45 minutes up into the Sierra Madre.

What to bring

Clothes you do not mind getting dusty and wet: a t-shirt, shorts or trousers and closed sneakers, plus a bandana or buff for the trail dust. Bring a swimsuit and towel for the water stops, sunscreen, insect repellent and a little cash for tips. Long hair is easier tied back under the helmet. No sandals, flip-flops or loose jewellery — the ATV pedals and the zipline harness both need closed shoes and nothing dangling.

Good to know

Before you book. Age and weight limits come from the ranch equipment (harnesses, saddles and ATVs) and are confirmed when you book — tell us the ages and the size of your group and we will check availability before charging anything. The ranch sits about 45 minutes inland from Puerto Vallarta on a mountain road, so the day runs from roughly 9 AM to 3 PM door to door. If you have severe back or neck problems, a heart condition, or you are pregnant, please assess carefully whether this tour suits you and let us know in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Is it too much for one day?

No — the day is built around it. The ATV circuit takes the morning, the ziplines the early afternoon, and lunch sits between or after depending on the group. You are back in Vallarta by mid-afternoon.

Do I need experience for either activity?

No. Both start with a briefing and a practice run: a loop on the ATV and a short line on the canopy. Guides stay with the group throughout.

Can two people share one ATV?

Yes. A driver and a passenger can share a machine, which is common for couples and for an adult riding with a child. Tell us the split when you book.

Is there a weight or age limit?

The ziplines take riders from about 6 years old up to around 250 lb (113 kg), and ATV drivers must be 16 or older. Limits come from the equipment and are confirmed when you book.

Is this cheaper than booking separately?

Yes. At $145 USD the combo costs less than the ATV tour and the zipline tour bought individually, and it is the same full ranch day with lunch and open bar included.

Is transport from my hotel included?

Round-trip transport from the agreed meeting points in Puerto Vallarta is included. If you are staying outside the usual zones, tell us where and we will confirm the closest pickup.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain does not stop the day. Only lightning or heavy storms cause a hold or reschedule, and we let you know as early as we can.
