About this tour
El Edén is 2,500 acres of Sierra Madre rainforest tucked into the mountains behind Puerto Vallarta, threaded by a river and two waterfalls. It is thick, loud, genuinely wild jungle — and the easiest way to see all of it at once is from a steel cable strung between the treetops.
The circuit runs ten separate ziplines totalling more than three miles, each one launching from a wooden platform built into the canopy. Some lines are long and fast with the valley opening up beneath you; others drop you low over the river so you clear the water and the boulders by a few metres. Between runs you walk short jungle paths with your guides, which is when most people spot the wildlife — iguanas sunning on rocks, coatis, deer, hawks circling the ridge, macaws and clouds of butterflies.
The site is also a small piece of film history: the river and jungle here were used as a location for Predator in 1987, and the tour flies directly over that scenery. No experience is needed. If you can walk a short trail and follow a briefing, you can do this tour.

How the day works
- PickupYou are collected from the meeting point at your chosen departure time — 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM or 12:00 PM — and driven up into the Sierra Madre.
- Check-in and gearHarness, helmet and gloves are fitted at base. Guides run the safety briefing and show you the braking technique on a short practice line.
- The ten linesYou work through the circuit platform by platform, with guides at both ends of every line. Short jungle walks link the platforms.
- River and waterfallsThe course crosses the river and the waterfall canyon — the best part of the tour for photos.
- Back to VallartaGear is returned at base and transport brings you back down to the city.

What to bring
Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dusty — a t-shirt, shorts and closed sneakers are ideal and won't get in the way while you're flying over the jungle. Bring sunscreen, insect repellent and a little cash for drinks or tips. Leave loose jewellery, sandals and flip-flops behind; the harness and platforms need closed shoes.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need zipline experience?
No. Guides run a full safety briefing, fit your harness and helmet, and send you down a short practice line before the long ones. Most guests have never ziplined before.
How many ziplines are there?
Ten separate lines covering more than three miles in total, strung between platforms across the jungle canopy.
Is there a weight or age limit?
Minimum age is 6 years and maximum weight is 250 lb (113 kg). These limits come from the harness and cable equipment and cannot be waived.
Is transport included?
Yes. Round-trip transport from the meeting points is included in the price, along with bilingual guides and all safety equipment.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dusty: a t-shirt, shorts and closed sneakers are ideal. Avoid sandals, flip-flops, skirts and loose jewellery.
Is El Edén really the Predator filming location?
Yes. The river and jungle at El Edén were used as a location for the 1987 film Predator with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the circuit flies directly over that scenery.
What happens if it rains?
Light rain is not a problem — the jungle is at its best in the wet season. Departures are only held or rescheduled for lightning or heavy storms, and we let you know as early as we can on the day.
