🍽️ What is it?
An individual round homemade pie (cupcake-sized) with a cookie or pastry base, filled with coconut, chocolate, pecan, cheese, or lime. Made by the women of Yelapa and sold up and down the beach throughout the day.
✨ Why it's amazing
The ingredients are fresh — the coconut is grated that morning, the cheese is local, the fruit comes from the backyard. But what makes it unforgettable is the context: you're on the beach, feet in the sand, and a woman walks up with a basket of homemade pies.
📍 Where to find it
- Yelapa Beach exclusively. The Pie Ladies walk the beach from mid-morning. Flavors: coconut, chocolate, cheese. Cash only. Price: 60-80 pesos.
- How to get there: water taxi from Los Muertos Pier (45 min) or from Boca de Tomatlán (30 min).
